Cost Benefit of a pellet stove. I have a small home and just wondering if buying a pellet stove would be smart. I'm just wondering pro's and con's and how much it would save me in oil. Its really a small house but I dont have the square footage right off hand.
ok i'll buy a corn/pellett stove...
pellet stoves are a very cost effective way of heating a home. and small homes even better. that way you don't have to heat the bedrooms as much since typically people like it colder in the bedrooms. plus how often are you in the bedroom except for sleeping and other recreational activities. just remember to keep a good supply of pellets, get a stove that has a large hopper, and if the power goes out.....no heat. of course you wouldn't have heat with a conventional furnace either so that is a moot point.
p.s. get one with thermostatic controls, and a good circulation blower.
