Angry Birds are probably the most successful games mobile market has seen, and it is not difficult to understand why. Designed for short bursts of play, Angry Birds are simple and fun - hurl a bird with the screen slingshot to destroy the structure in front of you and attack the evil pigs that live in and around the said structure. Get points, destroy things, and be entertained.
The furious fowl has now found its way to PlayStation 3 and PSP through the PlayStation Mini Angry Bird and the game is largely untouched over its touch-screen counterpart, but it has a few performance problems that tarnish the port.

Through about 200 levels, you must use the analog kernel to retire on your slingshot and fling 2D birds across the screen. This is my favorite way to play. The core offered me tiny differences in the control that I do not feel I get with my fat finger on the screen and it also means that I can see the entire screen as the action goes down and not have a figure in the road.
Watching the screen is important in anger Birds. As bundles of feathers go flying, they can trace their arc through the air. This is useful when planning your next shot and trying to draw the next tree support. When I first started, I only had red birds to launch through the air. These guys just fly over and knock off stuff. Eventually, you unlock different birds with special skills. Press X, while the blue bird in the air, and it splits into three - each with its own trajectory. Press X, while the yellow bird is in motion, and the little guy shoots out like a torpedo to smash through the structure.
Mastering these techniques is crucial to complete the Angry Bird. Each level has a three-star ranking system. If you're looking to get the perfect stats, try again and again to take down pigs with as few birds as possible. Doing well also frees golden eggs, hidden bonus game skate socks.
All this is fun. Trying to figure out how to get a pork encased in concrete or cause a glass block to fall on pigs are good times. As the levels are not as involved, Angry bird is the perfect game for me to fool with while watching TV and see how the levels are not so long, I was never pissed off when I ran out of birds and had only one piggy left of the screen, I knew I could jump back in, rework my strategy and get the victory.

But as I said earlier that there are a few questions here. For starters, not Angry Bird does not look so good. It's a Mini, and there is a lot going on visually (although everything is physics to it). Keep the framerate solid and sharp graphics should be no problems, but they are. Sometimes my bird would collide with a structure and the game would start to stutter and slowdown. Other times, would the borders of the birds and objects get thanked.
The game is $ 3.99 at release. It is a bit high considering the iPhone version sells for 99 cents and have an extra set of steps that do not. Even when the game was first released in the App Store, it only cost $ 1.99. Remember also that this is a PlayStation Mini so by design, there are no online leaderboards, and no trophies.
Concluding remarks
There is no doubt that Angry Birds are fun, but it could use polish - such as sharper visuals, a better price and smoother action. It's one of those games I could play for a few hours on a plane or obsess over my bed.

Will NASA ever fly to the moon instead of or in addition to slingshotting out of orbit?
It takes 3 days, currently to get to the moon, once the rocket is slingshotted out of the earth's orbit. The rocket glides through space without engine power for 3 days, before orbitting the moon. 3 days without powered transportation. Would it be faster to fly there under engine power on a straight line or with engine power after the slingshot out of orbit?
The short answer is "probably not". It is much more energy efficient to use the slingshot method. An extra thousand pounds of fuel (which really isn't all that much) is several million dollars in extra costs, even ignoring the extra costs to build engines able to to continuously run for longer portions of time.
